Q: Do you approve of president Trump’s environmental agenda?
A: In a word . . . no. I believe Trump is ignorant and misinformed when it comes to the question of global warming. When it comes to the question of pollution he is dodging and looking the other way because he is ignorant of the realities on the ground.
Perhaps his ignorance is so prevalent because he lives in New York City in a golden tower and the only nature he ever sees are his well groomed golf course grounds. Regardless, he is one of the cancerous breed who sees the lands of this planet as an adversary to be exploited and compromised pretty much the same way they deal with smaller mineral rich countries.
Personally, I have a problem believing he is so stupid NOT to see that the environment is taking a very heavy beating right now. One that will only get worse with his meddling. I don’t think he really cares though as long as he gets what he wants.
I know his stated interest lays in the jobs market and he does seem to be doing all he can to further the goal of getting this country working again, but he is wealthy and all his friends are wealthy and those kind of people see the world from a different perspective than us normal folks do. I believe he cares little for ‘we the people’ and is mainly pushing jobs in order to create a broader profit margin for him and his buddies. They need people who are willing to man their machines, that’s about the extent of his caring.
I don’t believe much has been done in real time to save the environment since 1970 and the advent of Nixon’s EPA and the clean air/water/land acts. Say what you will about old ‘tricky Dick’ but he helped create the sweeping environmental laws that put the industrial giants on notice and caused them to slow their mad dash to destruction.
I believe it was the Reagan administration who began taking the teeth out of the environmental movement and now with Trump in office, his desire seems to be, in general, to kill the whole thing . . . and he is currently doing a good job of it.
Trump is so egocentric that he can not see beyond the mirror on his gold flecked wall. I predict he will go down in history as the man who killed the environment movement in America. (if we allow that to happen) We the people need to wake up and get the train back on it’s tracks.
